Yotaro Sakamoto creates works centered on the traces left by materials, the presence of materials themselves, and the images they generate. Drawing across materials science, control technology, and parametric design, he explores forms that convey the texture and behavior of materials. Rather than treating materials as mere functions or surfaces, he reconsiders them as entities that embody time and the marks of action, developing expressions that engage perception and sensation.
